A brief description of how the physical campus plan or amendment includes sustainability:
The plan promotes a transportation system that supports pedestrian use as the highest in priority, followed by bicycles, transit, and finally, single occupancy vehicles (SOVs). It also supports the University’s desired characteristics and respects the concepts of growth management, alternative transportation, and sustainable development. The university plan addresses social sustainability through preserving the uniqueness of local neighborhood culture, supports sustainable development by precluding the need to disturb the landscape in order to access infrastructure systems, uses sustainable development to select and position landscape materials to aid in achieving energy efficiency, and employs sustainable design methods appropriate to a given project.
