Tony’s Coffee, Choice Tea, Starbucks Coffee, Larabars that contain chocolate, Green & Black Chocolate, Endangered Species Chocolate, and two Lipton Teas in Residential Dining are Rainforest Alliance certified, which " works to conserve biodiversity and ensure sustainable livelihoods by transforming land-use practices, business practices and consumer behavior".

"We track all of our sustainable purchasing information using the Real Food Challenge Calculator, a tool developed by a NGO, The Real Food Challenge, that strives to promote ecologically sound, locally-produced food, humanely raised meats, and fairly traded imported items through the purchasing power of public institutions and universities across the nation. Note that this system includes more than just local purchases.

For the most recent tracking/reporting period (Oct-Nov 2011), we’re at about 25% ‘Real Food’ campuswide."

University dining facilities also carry Chocolove Chocolate (which is NOT Fair Trade, but supports the World Cocoa Foundation, which "supports cocoa farmers and their families worldwide. WCF programs raise farmer incomes, encourage responsible, sustainable cocoa farming and strengthen communities"
