A brief description of the institution’s sustainability partnerships with the local community:
Great Salt Lake Institute: Westminster College has established the Great Salt Lake Institute (GSLI) to bring together partners interested in all aspects of GSL.
The GSLI actively promotes partnerships among colleges and universities, industry, government agencies, and non-profit organizations interested in sustaining GSL as an important resource. We support dialogue on important issues and areas of interest related to GSL. We believe that working together is the best way to raise the level of knowledge and concern about this special place.

Bioneers: Westminster College hosts the annual conference of the environmental nonprofit Bioneers, providing three days of multidisciplinary lectures, workshops, and performances aimed at “preserving and supporting the future of life on Earth.”

Sustainability Summit: In 2009, Westminster College hosted the Salt Lake Sustainability Summit, put on by the Salt Lake Center for Engaging Community. The summit served as a forum for community discussion on a variety of environmental and sustainability issues, with presentations by a variety of speakers.

Wasatch Front Forum: Westminster College joins the Salt Lake nonprofit Save Our Canyons to host the Wasatch Front Forum, a series of panels spotlighting diverse voices on local environmental controversies. The local radio station KRCL broadcasts and moderates the panels.
