Yes

Percentage of employees (staff and faculty) assessed, directly or by representative sample (0-100):
100

A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:

In October of 2014, the college administered the Personal Assessment of the College Environment (PACE) survey. The PACE survey asked questions associated with four climate factors – institutional structure, supervisory relationship, teamwork, and student focus. Whatcom contracted with the National Initiative for Leadership and Institutional Effectiveness (NILIE), from NC State University in Raleigh to administer the online survey.

A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation (including examples from the previous three years):

Feedback and suggestions made in the survey will be used as a starting point to encourage meaningful conversations on campus; to better understand campus issues; to measure growth or change in institutional climate and effectiveness over a multi-year period; and to improve the campus environment, programs and services, and teaching and learning.

In spring and fall of 2014, open faculty forums with the administration were held to discuss areas of discontentment. The forum was an open arena for faculty to directly ask the Dean of Instruction and VP for Instruction questions.
