Combined, Laurier retained a 96% construction waste diversion rate for the two most recent projects- Laurier Brantford Research and Academic Centre (BRAC) East and West buildings.
Laurier has established partnerships with many facilities which combined help to achieve such a high diversion rate. The following is a list of where each type of construction material is taken for reuse or recycling:
Land Clearing Debris- Green Valley Recycling, WSI & BFI
Asphalt- Lafarge/Montauge
Portland Cement/Cement- Lafarge
Steel and other Materials- Waxman, Zubics, Waxman Industrial
Wood- Green Valley, WSI, BFI, Walker Environmental Group
Gypsum- WSI, NuWest
Cardboard- WSI, Green Valley, BFI
Mixed Waste- WSI, BFI
Blue Box- Sunoco Recycling
Concrete/Block- Lakeview Sand and Gravel
Drywall- New West Gypsum
Masonry- Glanbrock Farms
