Does the institution make cultural competence trainings and activities available to all employees?:
Yes

A brief description of the cultural competence trainings and activities:

All staff of the college have participated in diversity workshops.
A brief description of the staff diversity workshops:

"Over the years, the student, faculty and staff at Williams have become more diverse. A more diverse and inclusive staff improves our services through new ideas, more creative solutions to our challenges, and stronger connections to the students and faculty we serve. Our differences can be challenging, too, if we stay closed to new ways of thinking and overlook opportunities to integrate all of our co-workers in core operations, planning, and decision making. As we build a more inclusive community where everyone can bring their whole selves to the workplace and be valued for their contributions, we will realize the promise of diversity and inclusion.

Your colleagues have asked for training in building a more inclusive community and this class is a response to that. We will be looking for more ways in the future to support our efforts and look forward to your participation in the process."

A series of faculty development opportunities were offered to all faculty in the 2010-2011 academic year. The title of the series was "Teaching students from emerging populations."
