Where BMS systems are in place, WPI technicians monitor the function of equipment, i.e., did the fan come on, how much air is moving, etc. Setpoints have been included in the monitoring of equipment for the following variables: temperature, air speed, water flow, and damper position. When these setpoints are either not met or are exceeded, mechanical systems are programmed to make adjustments and notify the technician of an occurrence so that corrections may be made. WPI utility consumption is viewed by Sitelines and compared to other institutions for benchmarking.
