Frequently Asked Questions

Does adoption of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices qualify under this credit?

No, adopting IPM practices is already recognized under the Landscape Management credit. To earn one-half bonus point for this exemplary practice, formal certification of the institution’s pest management program and/or contractor must be affirmed.

Example Responses

  • State University of New York at New Paltz – Response provides information about the institution’s pest management contractor, and includes supporting documentation to affirm that the contractor is certified.
  • University of Pittsburgh – The institution works with two contractors that are GreenPro certified, and documentation is provided.

Common Issues Identified During Review

  • Formal certification of the institution’s pest management program is required, and purchase of certified pest management products is not sufficient in the absence of formal certification. Documentation affirming the certification is required.
