Yes

A brief description of the sustainability-focused immersive program(s) offered by the institution:

Bucknell has offered several extended study abroad opportunities for students which are sustainability-focused. Unfortunately, the global pandemic restricted these opportunities. In December 2019, MSUS/UNIV200 Faculty and students traveled to Costa Rica. A description of the excursion is listed below: Information about the Course: In this course, we will explore management and technology concepts, models, and theories as they relate to the enactment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We will study how organizations in different global contexts set strategic priorities toward achieving their mission, vision, and values, and learn how they conceive, enact, measure, and report on social, environmental, and financial goals.

This course is designed to help you learn about sustainable management and technology by achieving specific course goals. The goals of the course include:

· Gaining a practical understanding of the SDGs.

· Acquiring knowledge of concepts, models, and theories of sustainable management and technology, and learning how organizations (in the U.S. and abroad) are applying them.

· Learning about strategic intent, mission structure, and organizational forms that can realize significant action toward meeting the SDGs while thriving as an organizational entity.

· Learning how leaders, managers, and employees in organizations can influence "responsible management."

· Developing an appreciation of what you can personally do to directly impact the SDGs.

· Immersing yourself in a global context and learning by observation, experiences, and active engagement with individuals in that country about facts, mores, values, juxtapositions, and quandaries of that culture and society.

The Global Ambassador Program (GAP) is a year-long program with three options for participation: Global Peer Educator, Global Citizen, or Global Peer Educator & Global Citizen. The initiative addresses the need to understand cultures, apply that understanding to our personal lives, and give back to others in the global community. The program is open to any student who has completed a year of undergraduate study at Bucknell. The Bucknell Center for Sustainability and the Environment also collaborates with the Global Ambassador Program on campus to equip the global ambassadors with a foundational proficiency in the Sustainable Development Goals and couple it with their experiences abroad to build intercultural sustainability competency.
