AASHE believes that transparency is a key component in communicating sustainability claims. Therefore, participation in STARS includes public disclosure of participants’ sustainability initiatives and performance.
The information reported through STARS populates a rich dataset of quantitative and qualitative indicators related to sustainability in higher education. There are several ways to access STARS data for analysis and benchmarking.
Anyone can access an institution's STARS Reports to see detailed information about its sustainability initiatives and performance.
AASHE members and STARS subscribers can use the STARS Content Display to filter and download specific information reported through STARS.
AASHE members can use the graphical STARS Benchmarking Tool to compare an institution’s performance against peer institutions.
If you are a student or researcher who is not affiliated with a participating institution or an AASHE member organization, you can request temporary access to STARS data.
