A brief description of the institution’s formal community partnership to advance sustainability:

California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) was selected as one of two California State University (CSU) campuses in a new Clean Energy Optimization Pilot in partnership between Southern California Edison (SCE) and the CSU and University of California (UC) systems.

The four-year, $20 million pilot program gives financial incentives to the CSU and UC to identify and apply sustainable actions to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. CSUDH was the top performing campus in year one and two of the pilot.

Shell Oil provides funding to the Campus Urban Farm to directly engage the local community in programming related to sustainability and urban agriculture at the Farm. The funding comes with deliverables associated with developing relationships with a set number of local community members annually.

LAEDC's mission statement is that "LAEDC drives action in support of a reimagined Los Angeles regional economy that is growing, equitable, sustainable, resilient, and provides a healthy and high standard of living for all."

CSUDH is a formal partner, and most recently has worked and continues to work with LAEDC to host public forums on multiple issues including a recent focus on sustainability.
