ASI's Environmental Policy Committee formulates and encourages the adoption of policies that will make A.S.I.'s internal practices more environmentally sustainable. In addition the committee also seeks:
1. To collaborate with Cal State L.A. administrators to formulate and encourage the adoption of policies that will make Cal State L.A. a more environmentally sustainable campus,
2. To educate the on-campus community on the topic of environmental sustainability and environmental justice,
3. To formulate and encourage the adoption of policies that will make the California State University system more environmentally sustainable working primarily through the California State Student Association.

Our Nutrition department and students have kept a community garden up and running to teach students about sustainability and urban agriculture. This year, our Associated Students Inc. (ASI) have started efforts to renew the garden. They are also hosting a tree planting event this May.

Engineers for a Sustainable World (ESW) has a stated mission "to build a more sustainable world through new educational programs, sustainability-oriented design projects, and volunteer activities."

Various faculty, student organizations, and student affairs offices collaborate to offer earth day events focused on sustainability.

Additionally, our Center for Student Involvement (CSI) will give out materials that promote sustainability such as water bottles, reusable bags, Tupperware to tote lunch to campus, reusable lunch sacks.

Finally, the U-SU added stations last year where people can refill their water bottles easily.
