The Sustainability Office gets requests from students about paid internships from many students each year. The Sustainability Coordinator ensures employees represent a variety of groups on campus, including underrepresented groups, including the LGBTQ community. The Sustainability Coordinator contacts our representatives from community alliance groups (e.g., Black Community Alliance and Latinx Community Alliance) on campus to notify them of internships available.

Events where we collaborated with underrepresented groups include:
Earth Day Fair and Campus Sustainability Month activities. We invite DEI program members to exhibit or speak at events. In spring 2021, we included a virtual social justice and the environment art session as part of Earth month activities.

One member of our sustainability committee is also responsible for the Diversity & Inclusion program on campus.
