Data source(s) and notes about the submission:

Students at the University of Iowa have a variety of alternative transportation options from which to choose. Students easily navigate campus by walking and bicycling through a network of sidewalks and trails throughout the campus. A free on-campus shuttle is available to all students. Discounted bus passes are available for use on the local city transit systems. A carpool matching service and carpool parking permits are also available.

All students who have purchased daily parking pass permits have been assumed to be single occupant vehicle drivers. All Iowa City and Coralville transit passes purchased through the university are assumed to be used as the primary form of transportation for the purchasing student.

The data reported reflect a campus-wide survey of commute habits for the entire UI student population.
