A brief description of any internal sustainability professional development and training opportunities that the institution makes available to non-academic staff:

Several opportunities for staff development exist at UWRF. One of those programs is the Series on Excellence and Innovation (SIE) which is a series of events highlighting various aspects of campus and the goals of each of those areas. In 2019, there was a specific SIE event featuring Campus Sustainability to share information with all employee groups regarding how UWRF is and is not sustainable.

It is important to note that there are many more opportunities for faculty and staff on campus to engage in sustainability through notable visitor presentations, collaborative research, student life activities that cater to the wider campus community, as well as all the diverse ways campus is used as a living laboratory.

The Office of Sustainability offers training out to all faculty and staff. Topics for training include waste minimization, campus sustainability overviews, and sustainability tours.

UWRF hosted the 2020 UW System Sustainability Annual Meeting through which trainings on the intersectionality of diversity and sustainability were open for all employees to participate.
