While Auburn University has not created a formal body that meets the criteria for this credit Auburn staff participate is several bodies that give some external stakeholders a regular voice in decisions that affect them: These include the Auburn and Opelika Chambers of Commerce;, an annual Auburn Chamber forum featuring AU leadership; the board of directors of the Alabama Germany Partnership, Japan American Society of Alabama, United Way of Lee County and Main Street Alabama. Quarterly partnership meetings with the City of Auburn and AU to coordinate infrastructure and capital improvement projects; quarterly economic partnership meetings with the City of Auburn ED team and Auburn Research and Technology Foundation to discuss economic development issues in our community. In addition Auburn staff serves the City of Auburn 2040 Steering Committee to collaborate on the plan as it relates to Auburn University.
