Cal State LA uses the Injury and Illness Prevention Management System (IIPP) which is a California state requirement. This system sets guidelines for each employee to follow to ensure a safe workplace. This includes a variety of key component programs to educate employees on safety practices as well as instruction on how to report any incidents.
Key component program examples are: Injury and Illness Prevention, Hazard Communication, Hazardous Materials Management, Chemical Hygiene, Biosafety, Ergonomics, and Respiratory Protection. Trainings for these programs and more are available through CSU Learn/SumTotal and with supplemental in-person training, especially in the science and trade work areas.
