A brief description of any external professional development and training opportunities in sustainability that are supported by the institution :

An example of an external professional development required of our housekeeping staff involves an annual sustainability training from our chemical/paper provider. Kurt Amig, President of Americhem, does the session which highlights our products that are green seal certified, designed for the environment, certified biobased, and/or have the biobased content seal.

Additionally, our arborists have a yearly training from the (ISA) International Society of Arboriculture. At Dickinson, there is a significant amount of knowledge required to perform tree care at the highest level. This ISA Credential helps our staff become a knowledgeable, experienced tree care professional who is committed to properly caring for and maintaining our trees and greenscapes.
