REACH. INCLUDE. SUPPORT. ELEVATE
RISE is dedicated to supporting students from underrepresented groups in three main pillars:

Outreach: Empower students to realize that post-secondary education is a viable option for them. Work with equity/ community groups to create pathways for post-secondary.
Access and Transition: Promote successful academic and social transitions once students are enrolled in a program at Durham College. Provide service navigation to a multitude of student support services available on campus.
Retention: Once enrolled, RISE works to ensure students from underrepresented populations have the community and support they need to achieve their full potential and reach their education/ career-oriented goals.
RISE goes beyond the standard college offering: Once enrolled, RISE works to ensure students from underrepresented populations have the community and support they need to achieve their full potential and reach their education/ career-oriented goals.
RISE aims to provide services and supports to ensure all learners achieve their full potential for post-secondary success. Through programming, services, and community partnerships, we support current and prospective students at each step of their post-secondary journey to ensure all learners reach their potential for post-secondary success.
