PA-8: Affordability and Access

Through federal, state and institutional financial aid programs, payment plan options and Emerson's financial education program, Money Matters, the college strive to help families manage the cost of a quality education. It is Emerson's goal to provide the services needed to make Emerson College a financial reality for students. The Financial Aid staff, in conjunction with the Office of Student Accounts and the Office of Student Success, is committed to working together to find the best solution for a student’s situation and needs. Some of the programs offered to reduce cost of attendance include:

Student Assistance Fund
The Student Assistance Fund makes small awards to help eligible students with indirect costs of attendance such as books, printing and copying costs, film, developing, other required course supplies, personal items, transportation, and food. This fund was established primarily through the generous support of Emerson staff and faculty members, demonstrating their commitment to the success of Emerson students inside and outside the classroom.

First Generation & Low Income Program (FLI@Emerson)
The Office of Student Success is available as a support and resource for students who will be the first in their family to graduate from college or may experience financial insecurity. This program will connect students with supportive staff, faculty, and peers through workshops and social events throughout the year.

Trustees Scholarship
This prestigious scholarship is given to applicants accepted into the Honors Program. Student are required to enroll full-time and maintain a 3.3 GPA (3.0 GPA in the Honors curriculum). It is renewable for up to eight semesters. For students entering the College in 2019, the amount of the Trustee Scholarship is $25,000 annually.

Next Step Emerson Scholarship
For students entering the College in Fall 2019, the amount of the Next Step Emerson Scholarship is $25,000 annually. Students must plan to earn an associate's degree with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2 from one of the participating community colleges by the time they matriculate at Emerson.

Emersion: Foundations of Success
Emersion: Foundations of Success offers information and student support students need to achieve. It focuses on four key areas to set students up for success in college and beyond: 1) Academic Success 2) Personal and Intercultural Development 3) Community Engagement 4) Health and Well-Being.

Veteran Support
The Office of Student Success aims to support veteran students' needs in accessing local services and resources on-campus. They work closely with the Office of Financial Aid, which certifies VA benefits.
