Humber Residence strives to maintain an inclusive residence environment for all students. Currently our efforts to support transgendered and transitioning students include multiple style of accommodations options (which include private washroom availability), our zero tolerance policies regarding harassment and acts of intolerance as well as 1 on 1 staff support. In an effort to continue to diversify our supportive initiatives, we are exploring options for providing a more inclusive environment for our transgendered and transitioning students through changes to our application process (i.e. not requiring gender indication), providing all gendered washroom signage (as opposed to co-ed or gender neutral), as well as continually training our Residence Life Staff on how to best support transgender and transitioning students.
