This was a difficult section to complete since the AASHE STARS 2.1 to 2.2 revisions. We did our best to read the Technical Manual and apply the criteria for Single-Attribute and Multi-Attribute sustainable management policy/program properly. Buildings and renovations in the last 20 years are intended to comply with LEED Silver guidelines. This carries over to the Operations and Maintenance in multiple attributes around materials use, cleaning products, energy, etc. We included these buildings in the Multi-Attribute section. All of Keene State's buildings comply with an Indoor Air Quality policy and certified Green Cleaning, and some have additional features such as energy metering, Energy STAR products, etc. We included these in the Single-Attribute section.
GREEN CLEANING CERTIFICATION:
The custodial services provider for Keene State College uses Green Seal® cleaning products throughout the campus, covering over 87% of all buildings. This is part of Keene State's commitment to operate with cleaning protocols that are more than just safe, but are healthy for all who live, work, eat and sleep on campus. From Page 13 of the the most recent C&W Services contract Addendum:
8. Contractor agreed to use Green Seal® approved cleaning agents and to work with the College’s recycling coordinator to determine which projects are the best in this category to meet the cleaning needs of the College.

ENERGY STAR: Per University System of New Hampshire purchasing guidelines, Keene State College uses Energy Star rated materials for the majority of new purchases. The following language is included in all contracts and purchasing agreements and indicates the commitment to sustainable operations and maintenance:
The following Sustainability Statement is included in every request for proposals, qualifications or other bids that the University issues:
USNH and the CPA strive to conduct business in a sustainable and energy efficient manner. This is an effort to balance economic priorities with environmental health and human health. USNH will, when economically feasible, do business with companies that can further our sustainable objectives. We are interested in receiving environmental mission statements or information about any programs or policies that have to do with sustainable issues. These programs or policies can be, but are not limited to, reducing, reusing and recycling resources, disposal of organic and other solid waste, conservation efforts in regards to transportation, energy and water, disposal of hazardous waste, and/or giving back to the community. USNH also prefers to purchase items with Energy Star™ ratings. If applicable, please include as part of your bid, pertinent information in reference to any sustainable and/or energy efficient practices and products offered by your Firm."
ENERGY MONITORING: Most KSC buildings are sub-metered and automated to track and improve energy savings. The data are tracked and compiled by the KSC Energy Coordinator, Honeywell, and EnerNOC (now, Enel X North America).
