A brief description of the socially responsible investment option for retirement plans:
The state of Washington different retirement plans for different employee classifications. Classified staff is enrolled in a defined retirement benefit plan that they do not make contributions to and is managed by the state. However, faculty and exempt employees have the TIAA- CREF retirement plan and can direct their retirement funds to a variety of investment options, including socially responsible ones.
