PA-8: Affordability and Access

The Educational Opportunity Fund Program (EOF) here at Raritan Valley Community College provides eligible students with academic and economic assistance to help them earn their college degree. Students eligible for the EOF program receive year-round services.

EOF provides more than just financial support. As an EOF scholar each student will receive academic support and assistance in making the transition to college.

Services provided include:
Assistance with the admission and enrollment process
Academic advisement
Financial Aid assistance
Personal counseling
General career counseling
General transfer counseling
Academic support services
Funding for summer courses

Students currently in the program who decide to transfer to a four-year institution in New Jersey may transfer their EOF status, enabling them to continue to receive the funding as well as the support services.

The College staffs and houses a Resource Center and Food Pantry that are available to all students and employees.

• Veterans services - Raritan Valley Community College welcomes active military and veterans of the US military. The college participates in the Veterans Affairs Principles of Excellence and is approved to administer all GI Bill educational benefits. These benefits help students earn their college degree by providing additional funding through the Department of Veteran Affairs. Benefits include GI Bill chapters 33,31, 1606 and 35. RVCC also waives tuition for active members of the NJ National Guard who are studying a degree or certificate program and is in good academic standing.

All veterans and active military students have a designated advisor who works with the student on all aspects of the academic path. These students can also receive and utilize all additional financial and support services on campus.

We do not have data to calculate "The percentage of student financial need met, on average". As a public community college for two counties, we accept all students who apply and have very low tuition rates designed to make education as accessible as possible.
