Roger Williams University follows the OSHA Standard for training and educating all employees. The management system is custombuilt for the variety of occupational hazards that can be encounter on campus. There are separate modules for each department (examples, Dining, Facilities, and Public Safety etc.) There is also campus wide trainings for all staff and faculty that include Emergency response, fire safety, and Hazcom. Trainings are conducted both live and electronically. Various trainings are to be completely before a new employee starts their respective position on campus and additionally, weekly (Dining) monthly (Facilities) Semi-annually and Annually. Most training requires individual log in, with the completion report being sent directly to the supervisor. Environmental Health and Safety are the record keepers of the certifications. In addition to the multitude of training provided to employees, individual professions uphold their own licensures such as electricians, plumbers, hvac technicians, EMTs,etc.
