The Office of Diversity & Inclusion at Tarleton State University offers multiple layers of support for our traditionally underrepresented student groups, including the following programs:
- Aha! Mentoring Program
o This is a shared initiative between the Diversity & Inclusion office and the Center for Academic Readiness and Success.
o This is a multi-tiered mentoring program that currently reaches over 500 students that have Noel-Levitz risk factors. Students are mentored by Student Success Mentors, Graduate Assistants, and a Program Specialist who assists with the operational aspects of the program.

- MENtal Freedom
o This is an intensive mentoring program for men of color at Tarleton. It focuses on timely graduation and academic success.
o Students meet weekly for an hour and participate in academic success training, events that foster dialogue about goal-setting and decision-making, and general training that will prepare students for graduation.

- Bold
o This is a women’s mentoring program that emphasizes women of color or traditionally marginalized populations of women.
o Women meet weekly to enhance their leadership and communication skills. They participate in a variety of community development and engagement activities, such as mentoring at-risk high school girls.

Tarleton State University is compelled to remain vigilant regarding discrimination on campus. The Campus Assessment, Response & Evaluation (CARE) team addresses any urgent safety concerns - including discriminatory acts. This program can be found at the following site: http://www.tarleton.edu/arteam/. In addition, Tarleton State University Student Government Association, as well as Judicial Affairs may also handle discrimination response issues. Furthermore, Tarleton State University Police Department is notified of, and tracks, all reported hate crimes.
