USFQ has an Internal Occupational Healt and Safety Regulation whose objectives are:
- Maintain the safety and integral health of all personnel involved in the educational services processes.
- Prevent accidents and avoid work-related illnesses.
- Protect and improve the environment, maintaining the balance of the ecosystem and avoiding pollution.
- Comply with the laws and regulations in force regarding occupational safety and health (OHS).

A brief description of the methodology used to track and calculate the number of recordable incidents of work-related injury or ill health :
Upon the occurrence of an incident, occupational accident or presumption of occupational disease, the following must be notified immediately: the internal extension 1911 for emergencies, or the security personnel, or the coordinator, or the director, or the Human Resources, or the OHS unit, or the Medical Service, or 911 emergencies at the national level.
b) In the case of work-related accidents, the institution's protocol for emergency care and/or medical emergencies shall be activated.
c) Duly trained brigade personnel shall provide first aid and basic emergency care with the resources and logistics previously available by the institution.
d) The medical, nursing and/or paramedical personnel shall assist the injured worker and proceed to stabilize him/her at the place where the accident occurred to send him/her to the IESS hospital or, failing that, to the nearest health center, according to the medical evaluation and the seriousness of the injuries.
e) In every incident or accident, the person in charge or coordinator of the area shall physically or electronically send a notification report with a copy to human resources.
f) A record and statistics shall be kept of all incidents, occupational accidents and/or occupational diseases that occur in the institution.
