There is no ISO standardization at the University of California, Merced; EH&S has neither an Occupational Health and Safety ISO 18001, Safety Management System nor an ISO 14001, Environmental Management System nor an ISO 45001 combined Safety and Environmental Management System.

Risk Services in partnership with HR and EHS is responsible for identifying and developing strategies to minimize the impact of risk, reducing costs, improving safety by executing new ideas and strategic plans in a rapid manner, and supporting the academic and administrative functions of the university to help ensure a safe and healthful workplace. By strategically managing risk we can reduce the chances of loss, minimize workplace injury and illness, create greater financial stability, and protect our resources in support of UC's mission.
