A brief description of the institution’s main campus and other aspects of the institutional boundary used to complete this report:

As UCF’s home since 1968, our 1,415-acre main campus in east Orlando is impressive in size and even bigger in potential. Modern facilities and state-of-the-art technology keep students connected to classwork and social communities, while 800 acres of woodlands, lakes, and an arboretum help the UCF community reconnect with nature. Whether inside a classroom or outside exploring, our campus is an exciting place to learn — and an easy place to love.

In addition to the main campus, the university has three sister campuses: the Rosen College of Hospitality Management, Health Sciences, and UCF Downtown. UCF also encompasses eleven regional campuses strategically located across the state of Florida. The scope of this report only includes the physical main campus. While Rosen, Health Science, and Downtown campuses are located in Orlando, operational control, utility billing, and facilities management differ from the main campus. However, activities such as research and courses that are housed by a sister campus but take place on the main campus are included.

The main campus is adjacent to the Central Florida Research Park, where UCF leases office space for some of its support services. Due to operational control, these spaces were excluded from physical space counts. Likewise, a number of residence halls are outside of the university's operational control. Housing headcounts were adjusted to reflect operational control.

Lastly, with UCF’s online courses, students can earn an array of degrees and certificates wherever and whenever it’s convenient for them. Fully-online offerings include bachelor degrees, graduate degrees and certificates, baccalaureate completion programs, and undergraduate minors and certificates. However, many students chose to take a mix of online and in-person courses. Headcounts and FTE are segmented by modality where appropriate and are reflective of enrollment during November of each academic/fiscal year.

Which of the following features are present on campus and which are included within the institutional boundary?:
Present? Included?
Agricultural school No No
Medical school Yes No
Other professional school with labs or clinics (e.g. dental, nursing, pharmacy, public health, veterinary) Yes Yes
Museum Yes Yes
Satellite campus Yes No
Farm larger than 2 hectares or 5 acres No No
Agricultural experiment station larger than 2 hectares or 5 acres No No
Hospital Yes No

The rationale for excluding any features that are present from the institutional boundary:

Due to the University's expansive size and the number of satellite and auxiliary units, the boundary was determined by excluding units outside of the main campus and/or outside of operational control. For example, the medical school and hospital reside on the Health Sciences campus in Lake Nona, apart from the UCF main campus and outside of operational control.
