Before students arrive on campus they receive #BoulderBound info. One issue to all incoming students is dedicated to sustainability info.
Welcome Days for incoming fall and spring students are optional. Sustainability info is offered through tours and information booths.
When students arrive on campus they are introduced to sustainability in a number of ways during Welcome Week. All Welcome Week events are zero waste introducing students to recycling and composting procedures for the campus. CU Environmental Center hosts booths for CU Sustainable Buffs at major events including UMC Welcome Fest, Night at the Rec.. Students have the opportunity to sign a pledge, choose a reusable item, decorate water bottles, get more info.
CU Environmental Center offers campus green tours of sustainability features during Welcome Week.
CU Green Labs gives a presentation to grad student orientation on sustainability.
All first year students live on-campus and are exposed to sustainability during move-in and orientation. Resident Advisors receive training on sustainability programs so they share this info to residents during housing orientation and move-in.
Online orientation modules for undergraduate, graduate and transfer students contains content specifically designed to educate students on sustainability on campus: Sustainability at CU: Greening the Black and Gold. The slides cover what is sustainability, why does it matter, the sustainability programs and goals of the campus and what students can do on an individual level while at CU-Boulder.
The Buff2Buff peer mentor program includes a module on campus sustainability.
