The Sustainability Cultural Indicators Program is a multi-year survey of U-M faculty, staff, and students designed to assess sustainability knowledge, behaviors, and attitudes. The survey has been administered to samples of university students, faculty, and staff in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2018 and 2021.

The 2015 survey asked students "Since the start of the fall semester, how do you most often travel to and from campus"
