A faculty survey was administered to the Deans and Chairs of all departments in 2008 to assess sustainability-focused and -related courses. The survey is included as an appendix in the Sustainable Campus Community Plan.

The total number of Undergraduate and Graduate courses offered by the institution listed above includes all lectures, seminars, labs, and discussions. These numbers reflect a higher number than the individual, unique course offerings, since many courses offer labs, lectures, discussions, etc. to encompass the single course.
*Conversely, the courses offering sustainability content were counted as one, regardless of the amount of offerings or sections.
In 2015, 28 sustainability courses were taught between Spring and Fall Semesters. It is noted because the 43 courses listed at the top include these 28, along with courses listed on the link for 2013 and 2014. In some cases, multiple sections were offered in 2015 which resulted in 32 courses. CHEM 236, 2 sections; ENGL 200, 2 sections; and TED 252, 5 sections (between Spring and Fall). For purposes of the course total though, multiple sections were not included.
In terms of the number of courses that include sustainability, only the same 43 that are noted as actual sustainability courses are counted as there is no good way to determine at this time the number of courses (Stifter).
In regard to the number of academic departments, the department was counted only once, even if it taught multiple sustainability courses or sections. This number is also based on 2013-2015 info and comes from the link noted above for 2013 and 2014 as well as the information confirmed by the Registrar for 2015. (Stifter)
