A brief description of the institution’s program to support employee volunteering:

In celebration of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, University of Richmond plans a variety of activities inviting students, faculty and staff to honor the holiday, serve in the community and learn about civil rights in Richmond. Following the day of service, all are invited to a commemoration event and reception with the University. The university is closed for the MLK Day holiday, but the campus community is invited to participate in a day of service and learning. Service opportunities included various tasks at an urban agriculture site, cleanup along the James River, and clearing brush and restoring pathways at a historic African American cemetery.
