The chancellor's advisory council's overarching goal is to position UW-Eau Claire and UW-Eau Claire Barron County as regional leaders in sustainability and climate action education, engagement, and programming.

Administrative Office of Sustainability-
The Administrative Office of Sustainability, working alongside the Student Office of Sustainability, is the catalyst for sustainability projects on campus. Located within the Department of Risk Management, Safety, and Sustainability in the Division of Finance and Administration, the AOS works to implement sustainability initiatives across campus.

A brief description of the activities and substantive accomplishments of the institution-wide coordinating body or officer during the previous three years:
The Chancellor's Advisory Council on Sustainability and Climate Action coordinates projects. During the reporting period this group's primary action was publishing a set of recommendations designed to move the campus towards a broad range of sustainability goals.
1 - The first campus sustainability coordinator was hired in 2022
2 - The campus has completed its first STARS report
3 - UWEC has commissioned a long range utility plan evaluating decarbonization opportunities the campus food pantry now has fresh produce from two hydroponics machines, which are run by students
4 - UW-Eau Claire staff now participate in multiple UW sustainability working groups, including procurement, design and construction, resilience, and transportation.
5 - newest campus building, The Sonnentag Center will be fully electric, with geothermal heating and cooling. It is expected to accomplish LEED Gold and WELL HSR certification.
6 - In 2022 a UWEC student presented their sustainability thoughts and concerns with the Universities of Wisconsin Board of Regents, in partnership with three other UW schools and the UW Divestment Coalition (a student org). Two UWEC students did the same in December 2023, following up with the Board of Regents and sharing more projects and concerns.
