What types of efforts qualify as student and/or employee wellbeing and assistance programs (Indicator 11.1 and 11.2)?
Institutions should report on the current status of student-directed programs and initiatives in each of the following areas:
- Physical health services – e.g., an on-site medical clinic or a referral service
- Behavioral health services – e.g., an on-site counseling program, a referral service, or a harm reduction initiative
- Free or reduced cost fitness activities – e.g., gym access or organized outdoor activities
- Sexual and reproductive health services – e.g., programs offering contraception and safer sex supplies
- Contemplative and/or spiritual activities – e.g., organized meditation, mindfulness, yoga, prayer, or ritual activities
- Campus safety committee that brings together individuals from vulnerable groups – e.g., student representation on the institution’s campus safety committee or a dedicated student safety committee that meets with management representatives on a regular basis.
- Emergency assistance fund for students/employees experiencing financial difficulties
- Food bank/pantry, meal donation program, or similar initiatives
How should institutions report on policies that restrict smoking and vaping (Indicator 11.3)?
Institutions should report on the current status of the institution’s policies and programs. Policies adopted by entities of which the institution is part (e.g., government or university system) qualify as long as the policies apply to and are followed by the institution. Institutions should report on “smoking” as defined by the institution (e.g., to include or exclude vaping).
