Trademark Licensing Monitoring & Verification (3.0)

This is an optional Innovation & Leadership (IL) credit. IL credits recognize institutions that are seeking innovative solutions to sustainability challenges and demonstrating sustainability leadership in ways that are not otherwise captured in STARS. Scoring in the Innovation and Leadership section is capped at 10 bonus points total.

  • Work with your institution’s bookstore(s), auxiliary services and/or similar units to to consider pursuing trademark monitoring and verification.

Potential Data Quality Issues

  • The institution must be certified by Fair Labor Association (FLA), Workers Rights Consortium (WRC), or – for institutions that are ineligible for LFA or WRC – an equivalent independent trademark licensing monitoring and verification organization.
