IL credits recognize institutions that are seeking innovative solutions to sustainability challenges and demonstrating sustainability leadership in ways that are not otherwise captured in STARS. Scoring in the Innovation and Leadership section is capped at 10 bonus points total.

Does hosting voluntary voter campaigns and voting drives qualify?
This bonus credit recognizes institutions that have earned external recognition for preparing students to play an informed and active role as citizens and voters. Voluntary voting campaigns and voting drives do not qualify under this credit unless they have earned external recognition based on established standards.
Suggestions for Institutions
- Work with your institution’s student services units and/or similar to determine whether external recognition for voter education and participation has already been achieved, and/or to consider pursuing such recognition.

- Student voter participation rate of 80% or more was achieved in a local or national election/referendum, OR the institution has earned a Platinum Seal from the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge (US).
- Institution has been recognized for its leadership in voter education and support through the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge, Voter Friendly Campus, or an equivalent national or international voter leadership recognition program.
