This guidance is achieved through: providing and prioritizing strategic and tactical recommendations in regards to diversifying our community, curriculum, and climate; advising the president and other senior administrators on such matters; measuring and communicating the progress the college has made on achieving its diversity goals; and ensuring the college is accountable for its continued growth and development with regards to equity and inclusion.

We are rolling out the DiversityEdu curriculum to students, faculty, and staff in Spring 2018 and Fall 2018. The curriculum is intended to increase awareness about bias, whether conscious or unconscious. Areas specifically covered include:
- examining assumptions
- impact of identity terms
- microaggressions
- bias in decision making

We have started follow-up conversations with faculty and staff who have received the curriculum to discuss how the information applies to their departments. The plan is for departments to apply the curriculum to issues in their departments and develop a plan to address those problems as a step toward establishing an inclusive community.
