Horse Hill Microfarm

A brief description of the student educators program (1st program):

The campus microfarm is a student-run urban farm located at the Lyle Center for Regenerative Studies. The students teach other students to work at the farm which includes an agriculture greenhouse, aquaponics system, and agroecology program that also provides food to the campus food pantry.


A brief description of the student educators program’s target audience (1st program):

The microfarm is used for education, research, demonstration to the campus and larger community outreach by the students. The students engage other students through collaborations with campus faculty, staff, and student organizations to foster campus wide involvement.

Student Sustainability Coalition

A brief description of the student educators program (2nd program):

The Student Sustainability Coalition is a campus organization linked to the Office of Sustainability. The organization student board selects outreach campaigns each year focused on education students on items such as holding zero waste events, upcycling and hydroponic workshops.

This program targets other student clubs and organizations to integrate more sustainable practices. The workshops are open to all students in any academic area of focus.

The sustainability student assistants promote sustainable practices to all students on campus. Aside from workshops and training they assist other students to submit sustainable project applications for the campus Green Initiative Fund.
