A Totemic Solutions food dehydration system was installed in Trinity Hall, the residence of the Spiritan priests who serve the University as administrators and teachers. The system's installation occurred during the 2023-2024 academic year and is operational.
The food dehydration system uses heat and agitation technology to remove the water from any type of organic food waste, reducing the volume 80% to 90%. The units only require electrical service and a typical floor drain. As the food waste is dehydrated it is also sterilized and can be beneficially reused.
