For over 25 years Gettysburg has been tracking our utility usage. Each of our buildings that have separate meters are tracked and our main electric and main energy plant usages are also tracked on a monthly basis. This tracking has allowed us to focus on areas to reduce utility usage. While we have not moved to Portfolio manager or other custom software we have maintained our tracking in spreadsheet for these 25+ years. Utilizing excel has allowed us to compare multiple years and building usage easily.

The data has been tracked from utility bills and collected monthly to look for any issues or trends that can be addressed. We believe the tracking has helped Gettusburg energy usage stay below the levels of comparable insitutions in our geographic region.
