Does the institution have programs in place to protect and/or create wildlife habitat on institution-owned land?:
A brief description of the wildlife habitat program, policy, or practice:
The Harrisburg Campus has a nature trail, created by Facilities staff, adjacent to the Wildwood Lake Sanctuary. The trail provides a pleasant walking path and is a living educational laboratory with native wildflowers. Bird boxes line the path, and encourage populations of various birds: Eastern Bluebirds, Tree Swallows, Chickadees and Prothonotary Warblers. Several bee hives are maintained by campus faculty.
The Harrisburg campus is classified as an arboretum, and along with the campus nature trail, enhances the the Capital Area Greenbelt, which surrounds the City of Harrisburg.
