LIU Post Dining Services supports local farmers and the community. We place a preference on food grown within our area when it is in season. We partner with J.Kings Food Service, a local food service company, SYSCO Food Services and Sid Wainer & Son for local products. We also purchase many of our baked goods from local bakeries.

A brief description of the methodology used to track/inventory sustainable food and beverage purchases:

Utilizing data provided by Aramark, we calculated the miles that each purchase traveled to get to the LIU Post campus. All purchases from local vendors (within 250 miles) were determined and divided by total purchases to come up with the figure of 29%.
