A brief description of notable policies or programs to make the institution accessible and affordable to low-income students:

The Mohamed VI Polytechnic University offers its students two sets of scholarships by OCP FOUNDATION to support excellent students who do not have the resources to carry on their higher education by offering:
• BE: Bourse d'excellence - Excellence Scholarship (Merit-based Aid) is granted to the top students prior to their acceptance after the entrance examination. This scholarship is attributed to cover all tuition fees according to merit classification of the admission test results.
• BV: Bourse de vie - Life grant (Need-based Aid) is granted to low income students after a file study by the scholarship commission. It is based on their social situation; family income and expenses. They must deliver some supporting documents for the school administration in order to study the eligibility of living grants and its level. this grant covers full accomodation and cathering for eligible students.
The two sets of scholarships can be granted both at once for some students.
These scholarships are granted to the majority our students (Moroccan and international).
For PhD candidate students, once accepted, a scholarship is granted to the one admitted in any research department at UM6P.


A brief description of notable policies or programs to support non-traditional students:

The UM6P has non traditional schools : MAHIR and an IT school called 1337.
*** Students of 1337 are accepted regardless of their academic achievement; you can be admitted even when you don’t have any diploma. There is a special grant for 1337 students, they live on campus and during the 3 years of their peer learning experience, they work with different departments as auto-entrepreneurs.

1337 is the first school to provide IT training in Morocco, completely free of charge, open and accessible to anyone between the ages of 18 and 30. No need for an IT degree, or of having undergone extensive IT training. The only criteria for admission is CREATIVITY.

*** Mahir is a center that provides alternative training for selected graduate students from different backgrounds who decide to join the center volontary. During a one year training, the center accompany these young people through notions of cultural openness, creativity, soft skills in order to create a positive impact in their surrounding.
