A brief description of the institution’s discrimination response protocol or team:

The NTNU has a strictly regulated discrimination response protocol of gender equality issues. The NTNU Guidelines for the Implementation of Gender Equity Education advance gender equity education and establish a "Gender Equality Committee" to promote substantive gender equality, eliminate gender discrimination, safeguard human dignity, and establish a learning environment and resources predicated on gender equality.

The handling of Gender Equality Cases of the discrimination response protocol emphasizes protecting complaint, and it is confidential for the case to explain in the following way:
*Suspected cases should be reported to the Campus Safety Center of the Ministry of Education in 24 hours
*Upon receipt of the party's investigation application, reply should be within 20 days whether the application is accepted or not
*The investigation period is about 2-4 months
*Three gender equality commissioners are needed to conduct survey
*The committee members submit an investigation report, which contains the investigation process and suggestions
*The report is sent to the Gender Equality Committee for deliberation
*Send the review results to both parties

The NTNU helps students from low-income households and disadvantaged students including children from families in special circumstances, aboriginal livelihoods, new immigrants and their children, and children with physical and mental disabilities and disabilities to enter the university more easily through the following two requirements:
1. Each department enrolls students through individual application, and preferentially admits at least one disadvantaged student.
2. Through the individual application regardless of departments, 10 places for disadvantaged students are provided. The selection test is done in an independent manner.

The NTNU actively recruits non-academic staff from underrepresented groups by requiring the departments and offices to hire no less than 3% of underrepresented groups, otherwise getting fined.

The university has established a special education promotion committee to hold at least one meeting every semester to connect all units in the school to jointly provide various support services for the disabled faculty and students, including improving campus barrier-free facilities, providing diversified and accessible personalized counseling programs , Including schoolwork counseling, psychological counseling, providing learning aids, textbook conversion services, and providing assistance for students to assist in enrollment, recording, life care, activities, computer real-time typing, note copying, and graduation transfer services.

A brief description of the institution’s programs to support and prepare students from underrepresented groups for careers as faculty members:

For culturally and economically disadvantaged students, NTNU provides study-at-ease projects, which include tuition waivers, scholarships & grants, student loans, housing allowances, and medical care. There are seven categories and 16 types of study-at-ease projects specifically for culturally and economically disadvantaged students, including tuition & fee waivers and other financial aid, on- & off-campus housing allowances, medical care, student loans, the Fulfilling Dreams Scholarship, and various scholarships from outside donations. In addition, the university also organizes career learning programs including self-exploration, resume writing, mock interview, visit workplace, and expression ability to help students be well prepared for a job.
The university has a special program to support and prepare students from underrepresented groups for careers as faculty members (Guidelines for the National Taiwan Normal University to handle the Ministry of Education's Xuehai project subsidies).

The Xuehai project offers subsides for students and teachers of the university from low-income households, with disabilities, and of other underrepresented groups for advanced academic degrees, exchange learning, or post doctor studies oversees. The teachers and students are obligated to the university for publishing research work, exchange learning, or teaching after they finish the program.
