Name or title of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
Tech to Town

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:

Tech to Town will serve as a one-day event that brings students, faculty, and staff out into the community to serve, impact, and strengthen the bonds between Texas Tech University and the City of Lubbock. Texas Tech University is grateful for the support and care that the City of Lubbock provides throughout the year, and this is just a small way to say thank you. Student volunteer throughout the community in park and neighborhood clean ups, homeless shelter maintenance, and other West Texas service projects. This project allows students to volunteer as a large group to make a massive impact in a single day, while other student organizations volunteer throughout the year. Tech to Town is an innovative initiative not covered by EN 13 because of the massive community efforts (partnerships within and external of the university) and the focus on sustainable community projects.
