The Office provides a variety of other workshops to interested staff groups, including:
• Climate Change: Realities and Readiness,
• Community-Based Social Marketing: Strategic Behaviour Change Strategies,
• Design Thinking for Sustainability,
• Basic Bike Maintenance and Repairs,
• Winter Cycling Made Easy, and
• Others upon request.
A brief description of any external professional development and training opportunities in sustainability that are supported by the institution :
The Office of Sustainability offers "Energy Awareness Training" facilitated through the Saskatchewan Environmental Society free of charge to any interested campus units. It is available at any time of the year. The training is a half-day session that focuses on:
• Current energy initiatives on campus,
• Simple methods to reduce energy consumption,
• On-site demonstrations, and
• Links to on-campus resource.
The Office of Sustainability also provides grants and reimbursements to staff and students who apply for registration assistance for sustainability-related conferences, symposia, and training. An example is the annual LEED Green Associate training workshop hosted on campus through LeadingGreen and offered at a discount to interested students and staff members.
