In order to arrive at the total number of student community service hours we first consulted a variety of community service program directors and student coordinators regarding the average number of hours students invest per week in their programs. These numbers were multiplied by the number of weeks in the academic year (30) and then by the number of students involved in each program. The final number is the sum of hours dedicated to each individual community service program.
