Denison University is a part of CONSORT and OhioLink. Through these two programs, students can create an account for free and access shared materials and a select number of textbooks online or physically through interlibrary loan. Additionally, faculty will often use articles from these databases in lieu of or in addition to requiring a textbook for classes. Faculty can also provide textbooks to the Denison Library to place on reserve for their students.

The Denison Library has an agreement with Lever Press, which is a publisher of open access ebooks. All of our faculty can publish on the platform without charge because of our participation in the program. One of the mission goals of Lever Press is to publish scholarly works so that anyone can have access to them for free and to get them into the discourse without the restrictions of traditional publishers and textbook fees.
As mentioned in the previous section, Denison is a part of OhioLINK. OhioLINK has a program called OhioLINK Open Course Content Library. Denison faculty can publish content there and use the content from that repository. There is no direct incentive that utilizes any form of compensation. The incentive provided is a platform and database that faculty can publish material to and use for free.
