In February 2016, the President of Concordia University published an op-ed in Quebec's newspapers advocating the federal government for more support on clean/green technologies research and development. More specifically, it was indicated to:
- Support basic and applied research related to clean/green technologies
- Support entrepreneurship and startups to help clean/green tech research getting from lab to market
- Support clean/green technology companies scaling up (e.g. through potential tax credits)
